Kansas City Southern Railroad crews will be working on the rail crossing on East Spring Street on Friday, April 20, 2018.  This crossing is 2 1/2 blocks east of the Downtown Square, just around the corner from the MFA Store.  East Spring Street will be closed from Hamilton Street to Lazy-Boy Drive, just west of the Lampo Center, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In addition an update on the Oak Cliff Drive sink hole has resulted in the following plan.  Additional test will be performed on Friday to determine the extent of the area that will need to be excavated.  Once that is determined construction repairs will begin on Tuesday, April 24, 2018.
Since the initial posting of this information, further investigation by staff has determined that the disturbance is well contained and limited.  Due to this evaluation the traffic will be reduced to one-lane for a short distance nearing and adjacent to the disturbance.  Thru traffic will be permited but will need to yield to oncoming traffic in the one-lane portion of Oak Cliff Drive.
Just a little history on this area of Oak Cliff Drive:
In May 2017 after the flood a sink hole appeared on Oak Cliff Drive just east of the intersection of Geyer Road, Crestwood and Oakcliff.  Repairs were made and the street re-opened to traffic.  Another opening on the surface has appeared, possibly a further symptom of the sink hole appearance last year.  Access is available to all residences and entrances.
Oak Cliff Drive will be re-opened to two-lane traffic once completed.
